Monday Night Football

We enjoy Monday night Football on TV. We've been to a couple of pro games, but couldn't see as much as television. We also enjoy a lighter dinner because we KNOW we'll snack during the game.

Okay, chili isn't exactly light, but it IS Fall-ish.
Okay, so I put sour cream and cheddar cheese on top, but one just bowl for me...usually.

We sometimes put Fretos on top of our chili in place of the sour cream and cheese!
And yeah, we enjoy dill pickle slices in our chili.....if we don't put the other toppings on. woooohooo! Don't knock it until you try it.

Sheesh, I guess it'll be rice cakes for half-time. Yeah, right. What do you put on your chili?

Oak and Acorn tureens, Williams Sonoma. Napkins, Wal-Mart!

While not a football fan, I'd join you just so I could eat chili out of those acorn bowls. How cute! Dill pickles, eh? Might have to try it. I like cheese and sour cream and green sauce from tabasco.

Hubby and I enjoy MNF also.
We always have a bowl of popcorn.
I like Fritos and cheez whiz on my chili.
I am going to put you on my list if you don't mind.

LOVE THOSE autumn bowls!!!

Chili is a staple at this house! Texans have Fritos (at the bottom of the bowl) and cheese on top. Haven't thought about sour cream ~ will have to try that one! The acorn bowls you show here would make anything taste better ~ they are "super bowls"~ pardon the pun! ~ Angela

Dear Janean...

Hello it's lovely to meet you and thank you so much for calling by Cottontails.

Being over here in England we don't have Monday night football, we have lots of football (I think you call it soccar) on the weekends. My chap watches it... I usually tolerate it with my laptop on my lap, talking to people like you!!

Your chilli sounds yummy.. it is one of my favourite meals. I'd be really interested in what recipe you us as guess it might be a bit different in the US?

I love creme freche and fresh coriander on top of my chilli, and just serve it with plain long grain white rice. Oh lovely!

Ah well, my chap has just served up salmon fillets and new potatoes and salad for this evening... better go and eat!

Love Charlotte

Most definitely grated cheese & sour cream. Also, we must have cornbread muffins with the chili. :)

I would love to have a bowl of chili out of that Acorn Tureen. We put chopped onion and cheddar cheese on our chili but would like any of the toppings you mentioned. Sounds like a great time!

I am loving the sound of your chili for Monday football night. Oh...why not go ahead and have a large piece of chocolate cake with ice cream for dessert!

Love the acorn dishes and napkins. I put chili in lovely ceramic bowls that my daughter makes in her pottery studio.

Have a great evening!

Love the oak and acorn tureens. Chili sounds good. I like to put cheese and fritos on my chili. Reminds me of chili pie in high school. Happy Holidays ~ Sarah

First off, I think gruel would taste good in those sweet soup tureens! And chili at our house is usually accompanied by some crusty homemade bread, and occasionally a sprinkle of cheese. Now that you have mentioned it, I think chili might have to be on the menu this week!

Janean, Love those tureens. I still have not figured out how to buy the acorn muffin pan with all the Christmas shopping, and now I see these delightful tureens. I need a second job or winning the lottery. BTW if you have a few minutes stop in to visit my blog. I have beautiful pictures of my favorite "antique and more" store in our area. My Thankgiving treat to my new friends, "eye candy without the carbs". As for chili, at home its usually just chili, but on road trips we stop at Waffle House for the hash browns smoothered with chili. I kid you not! Have a blessed Thanksgiving.

I do love those acorn dishes! Are those napkins from Wal-Mart paper or fabric? I'm coveting them!
