Mix Match
More hydrangeas & tomatoes from Sweetwater.
The vase is actually part of my canister set.
About four years ago I saw two "half-sets" at Marshall's. Because both partial sets are white and have same shiny finish, they look like they were meant to be one set.
This canister has a starfish on the lid. See it?
Have you made a set of anything out of mix-matched or mismatched items?

Beautiful photo Janean! Who would have thought hydrangeas and tomatoes would work so well together?!
I actually like things that are mismatched. When I set a table, I like to mix and match different patterns, placemats, serving pieces, etc. I think the key is keeping everything in the same color scheme (in my case, blue & white) and it all works.
I think mixing and matching is a wonderful way to decorate. I have done that with plates and platters when I find great things at the thrift shop. Stores that have things on sale because it's the last one are also great places for this. And the mixed hydrangeas look perfect in the cannister!
Dawn, I never thought about it either until they all sat on the counter!
Miss Mustard Seed, your guests must enjoy a table that is interesting. It can make for good conversation as each piece has a story.
