Horses and Decor

Horses are beautiful, so it stands to reason they make good subjects for home decor accessories. Horse paintings have lined the walls of castles and log cabins alike.  I wonder how many millions of doors have a horseshoe above it? I found this horse print that's 34 X 46 inches and has old, wavy glass.  The frame had a little damage, but I bought it anyway!  At Old Sweetwater our neighbors have horses so we have "live" horse art as well!  Do you have any equine decor? The room divider is available at Amazon.

I do agree with you there.. I love older prints that have been hand colored which are very hard to find now adays. But the results are well worth it.

Great great print there.. and love the divider that you found on amazon.

Enjoy your day my sweets!

with love,

Olivia

My daughter rides, and is a wee bit horse crazy! People are frequently buying her things - a pillow, a calendar. Plus she has pictures and her ribbons that she won in shows everywhere! Whenever she does a show, I leave the ribbons downstairs for a week or so just to admire them. Great pic you found there.

Horses are elegant creatures and I can see how many adore their horses or just horses in general.
God knows His business for sure.

No horse decor here by the Pond, but I do appreciate it in the homes of others. Isn't it nice to go outside and see the real thing - we too have horses in the neighbourhood and they give such a welcome to anyone who walks towards the fence.

No I don't. I have never been into horses. My husbands grandfather loved horses but he collected the plastic statue ones. We do have a saddle on a stand in my husbands office. His office is mainly duck decoy's.

I have horse art in every room...and real ones out in the barn. I have loved horses since I was a child.

I have that very same picture.
I had it on my wall for years and in a couple different houses.
I love horses and horse art.
Thanks for sharing.

Your horse print is gorgeous. I don't have any horse decor here but I love seeing them in the pastures all around our area.♥

We don't have any horse decor, but we do have a horse. :)

Thanks for stopping by my blog. Your layout is too narrow for larger pictures. If you want to know how to increase it's size feel free to email me at michelleocm@aol.com.

We love horses here at HansenFarm and have two plus a donkey. As for horse decor, you know it...in just about every room you can find something horsey here and there.

I used to draw horse pictures all the time when I was a girl. There's something about girls and horses isn't there? This is a beautiful painting. We don't have a horse, but there are lots of them here in the desert too.
Blessings,
Marcia

I am still holding on to my dream of the farm and riding my very own horse - child dreams never die. I am some what of an artiest and those paintings are beautiful.

Just a warning on that screen - I have it and love it, BUT when you see it up close, it is very pixilated! It looked lovely up on the wall behind my bed and from far away looked quite impressive. It's now in my den and I am going to try a few tricks to make it look antique. Stay tuned..........

DB, wow who would have even thought? I think your idea of antiquing it and darkening it is a great one. thanks for the "tip" too.

As a young girl, I had a lot of horse decor, dearly loved and admired horses and everything about them. Use to love to ride, have taken a few riding lessons in my day. No doubt would be fearful now, it's been so many years.

Horses, horses everywhere! We have six of them right out the back door and pictures and horsey art throughout the house. I have Bev Doolittle's "Pintos" in my office, along with a print by Tim Cox of two cattlemen racing across a desert with storm clouds overhead. I have half a dozen framed pencil sketches by Dan Brewer, or 'Buffler' as he was known by his friends. My husband was privileged to know him personally and we have several of his prints that we have not yet framed. Horses and all things western are more than a passing interest for us, they are an integral part of our life. We wouldn't have it any other way.
