Ride 'em Cowboy!

I like cowboys - farmers. That's why I married my honey. While my girlfriends went "gah-gah" over bad boys, bookworms, hippies, city-slickers, musicians, bikers, ivy-leaguers or artists, I wanted "a tall drink of water" who wore cowboy boots and jeans. On that note, here are some cowboy inspirations. Any cowboy-lovers? Any cowgirls? Would you like a cabin that had some of this decor? Photos from top: Cowboy log cabin-highly stylized; Cowgirl tooled leather purse; Cowboy family room; Cowboy antler chandelier; Cowboy leather chair with fringe (my favorite!); Cowboy antler flatware; Cowboy picnic table; Cowgirl poster and Cowboy "get-along-little-doggy!"

Love the leather chair with the fringe on the bottom. Reminds me of my suede fringe jacket I had with I was a "hip" teenager in the 70's!

I'll pass on the western decor but I did grow up in Texas. Nothing better than a man in Wranglers!

You are too funny!
I have a thing for cowboys myself.
Growing up and marrying young in Fort Worth Texas though...I'm over it!
(At least that's my story)
But I still love the look of cowboy decor!
I was just in Texas and stopped into a few stores who specialize in this type of decor...so cozy...but manly...How this is possible...The world may never know!

Have a blessed and wonderful weekend!

I do love worn leather chairs, but probably would pass on the fringe. Love the rustic picnic table and the bandanas!! I have a tooled leather purse (well a faux one anyways) And the puppy dog in the cowboy hat is adorable!

While I have not one thing in this home of mine that could be said to even slightly resemble anything 'cowboy' related (the ex was really into western and cowboy decor, I'm afraid...wore me out on it) I must say that you've picked some nice pics for this post! It is lovely stuff...in someone else's home! ;)

Love the furniture and the relaxed feel of it all.
As a youngster growing up I was a huge fan of Hopalong Cassidy. I had my boots and fringed skirt and vest. He was my hero.
I dated a real cowboy once, best dancer in the world, just not marriage material. OK that is probably to much information

Love it all, if you like this, check out www.maryjanesfarm.com or click on the side post on my blog. It all about farmgirls, cowgirls, not necessarily on the farm or ranch but in their hearts. Fun chat room too.

What a cute doggie! I like the picnic table w/ bandanas. It makes me want to have a cowboy theme for our anual 4th of July party. I'd say that's very American. ☺ Celeste

Sometimes I feel like I'm married to a cowboy.. because he brought the "hick" and "redneck" into our family! :)

The decor would be cute for a cabin....

Love horses... really all animals. As a young girl, I had horse statues and pictures, everything horse was the decor of my tiny bedroom. I had western type outfits too and loved them. But that all changed, tastes changed, now I really don't care for the cowboy decor in a home, but I do still love some of the cowboy style clothes. It's fun....

Oh Ya! Flannel Shirts, 501 Jeans and Cowboy boots make my heart sing!

That Sofa is Amazing! I love tooled leather.I just bought a pair of tooled leather Dansko shoes love them.I grew up with horse's and my favorite was the tooled leather saddle's.I loved the sound, the smell and the leather look.We always had one in our home on display.I miss that.

I would love a cabin full of all
that rustic, pure divine love all around me.

The third picture looks a lot like my living room also. We do live the life, raising horses in central Texas ...so it fits us. I even have a tooled leather purse, only mine is shaped like a saddle... my son and his wife gave it to me for my birthday the first year they were married. My husband was friends with cowboy artist Dan 'Buffler' Brewer, so I have several of his drawings on throughout our home... all of them western theme, of course.

I once read a bumper sticker that said 'Texas is a State of Mind' ...so true! : )

Janean,
Checking in late today. Love the cowboy theme. And yes, the rustic cowboy/ranch aura does appeal to part of me. It's more masculine than all the poofy-phoofy things we girls like, and I would wish to have some of that mixed in to the decor...as I have lots of masculinity flying around here. My 16 year old would whoop over the first pic. He loves anything Native American. Keenly interested in the history. My sister loves horses and has some equestrian themed stuff at her house. She just about lives at the barn. The barn where she gives lessons and boards her horses has a whole upper floor that is like a guest house for visitors. The decor is like that of the first photo. That would be nice to have a cabin out back to just do up for the guys, Yes???? fun..the man cave! Thanks for a great post again. hugs.

My husband is the cowboy in our house. He has always wanted to be one and that is why he has a saddle in his office in our house.

I've never decorated cowboy, but we did have our horse phase when our boys were growing up. Hubby cowboyed it up for a while in the 80's with hat, boots and guitar and of course his horses.
My boys were all for the hats and boots too, but only one out of three really liked the horses part. Gotta love those Wranglers. So guess I got my "tall drink of water" too for a while....too funny, Janean.
