Paper Roses

Marie Osmond sang "Paper Roses" back in 1973! Did you know that Anita Bryant first released it in 1960? (that was for the trivia lovers) Today I'm focusing on pink roses in our decor and gardens, but I had yellow roses in my wedding, so that may be a post in the near future. What color rose is your favorite? Did you have them at your wedding? Do you have them in your decor? Photos: Rose bedroom - Country Living; Rose Chandelier - click on photo for link; Kitchen Aid Vintage Rose mixer; Rose earrings - online; Rose colored flats; Rose cupcakes; Rose vintage card - Zazzle and Roses - the inspiration!

Oh I love the room with the rose wallpaper! I could just go in there and swoon over everything and dare anyone else to enter!

My wedding was very small with family. I had a white dress with daisies flowing down the back, so I carried daisies and roses.

Thanks for such a lovely post.

hugs

Janean,
Yellow roses are my favorite(who knew???) but I grow alot of roses in my yard at the Cape house. I have a Waverly pattern with roses in the downstairs bath, that I love!

I do have some rose pictures(red).
My favorite is sterling silver it is kinda of a lavender gray color.. I have one planted outside, but in our soil it will give me one bloom and that is it. I need to give it some attention I guess.
But a Kitchen Aid with roses, who knew.

Love pink roses! Our old sofa was a soft red with pink cabbage roses all over it - I loved that sofa!

Where did you get the kitten image? I'd love to be able to use it in a card! B.

I grw up with my parents lovingly tending to their garden roses, and appart from some lovely scented ones, I am ashamed to admit I didn't really notice much. Over the years, I have found myself drawn to the white english climbing roses, and any with those beautiful combination of shades with pink, apricot, orange and yellow. I love the way the colours graduate to the ends of the petals!

You know, Janean, I don't have roses anywhere inside. I do have a pinkish red rose bush in one of the flower gardens. I always thought it was just my daughter-in-law who liked pink roses...but with every picture I'd look at as I scrolled down your post I would think, "this is my favorite", then I would see the next one. Absolutely beautiful selections today.

Janean, we have always had roses in our flower beds until we moved here. Robert says he's going to plant some more, but hasn't as yet. Roses are such a beautiful flower that God gave us. I'll be praying for you on the situation you put on the comments on my post.

That first pic looks like a room I dream of having! I wanted so much to do Perri's room in that style but she wanted no part of it. :( And that chandelier would definitely be a part of it, too! Someday when I grow up and have my own room, that's how it will look! ; )

I love pale pink roses, almost cream. They are the biggest luxury! Now that we have a deer fence at Pondside I'll be able to grow roses, and I'm looking forward to the perfume wafting in through the windows.
I enjoy your posts very much - short, inspiring, beautiful.

I'm most certain I need one of each of these (well, 2 of the shoes). Such beautiful images. I actually like the pink ones best, although the red ones are very sentimental. So sweet to hear from you today about Paper Cowgirl. It would be awesome if you really could be there. ~ Angela

Late today! Janean, the roses are just beautiful. I do love them not just for their looks but for their wonderful scent. Walking by a vase filled with roses opened up is just such a nice smell.
The chandelier is so pretty, and what a unique mixer. I'm afraid I'd be scared to use it and get it dirty. I don't have many roses in my yard. just a couple of miniature rose buses, and an old English tea rose (smaller size) creeping up a trellis. I'd love to get some more colors someday, (another goal!) when I have more time to tend to them properly.
(along with another gardenia bush, and a plum tree, and a pink dogwood, and a eucalyptus tree, and on and on and on....oh dear.
Thanks for a very pretty post.
great photos. and I do LOVE yellow roses, and the deep red, and nowadays the peachy colored ones.

Last year, for my 50 B-day, my co-workers gave me 50 pink roses, I had never seen so many roses in one vase. They were breath taking. My favorite color of rose is peach, but my personal favorite flower is the daisy. Love these photos today.

Janean
For my wedding I carried a crescent bouquet of 3 1/2 doz. shades of pink roses! My gown was adorned with white silk rose clusters, loved it! every nook and cranny of my home is pink roses, and my garden has about 10 different varieties of pink roses too! Guess that says alot of my favorite color of rose!LOL Lori P.S Some say bordering on weird!!!
