Forbidden Colors

Certain colors were forbidden to wear together when I was in junior high (middle school). If anyone wore pink and green ON THURSDAY (thank you, Loui), they were teased and called names - all in good nature for the most part.  This custom seemed to be common, though the colors varied somewhat. Fortunately in decor and creation there are no forbidden color combination. We'll focus on pink and green, which were those colors!
Did your school have a similar "code?" Do you like pink and green? Photos: Pink and Green Shabby Kitchen; Pink and Green Petit Fours; Pink and Green earrings; Pink Toile and Green bedroom; Hoops and YoYo toys; Pink and Green sophisticated Living Room; Great Lash and our inspiration from Creation.

We didn't have the forbidden colours thing going on, but we did have the "My clothes are cooler and more brand name than yours " thing happening. I never won that darn contest. My Mum wouldn't let me play.

Now I couldn't care less.I go for comfort not fashion. There is a certain cachet to middle age don't you think?

I love pink and green together. Those petit fours make me wanna lick my computer screen, but I'll just have to be satisfied with ordinary lamington roll...sigh...

Janean,
I am more of a red, yellow green girl, but these are very pretty together. The shabby kitchen is darling!

While I have never personally trended toward pink/green in my wardrobe, I do love it in other areas -- those earrings, in particular!! :)

I also really, really like that first photo of the kitchen! Wow! Though... I don't believe I would have the heart to subject my hubby to that much pale pink in our home. He wouldn't complain, but I'd spare him.

Great photos and great post! :)

My daughter's two favorite colors are pink and green and I like them together quite a bit myself. Kind of reminds me of a lovely pink garden.

Oh my goodness, I had forgotten all about not wearing pink and green together. Love the beautiful post. I look forward to you every morning.
Love those petit fours.
I think I might just pick me up some pink flower at WM as I do my dad and brothers shopping this morning.

I have forever loved the pink and green color combination! It has been way too long since school days to remember if we had any of those 'forbidden' things ... most likely we did though. Most kids do.

I could kiss & hug the person who came up with the "shabby kitchen" for this photo. I like the combination of colors ~ and I must say "wow!" on the aged pinks and what looks like collective green glassware ~ my favorite :) My day is now brightened know someone else's kitchen has the same challenge ~

My daughter's room is pink and green. Now that she's grown and gone, I find myself going in there to read or nap. Very peaceful colors mixed with white furniture.

I love a nice pink and lime green! Not for wearing, or for decorating (much)... but in flowers, or accessories, in food - ok candy, or watermelon! - oh, the possibilities!

I love pink and green. That bed is a dream! My bedroom and master bath are both green and pink. Unfortunately, Mr J won't let me go ultra feminine in the bedroom. He did let me go hog wild in the bath!
