Bluebells, Cockle Shells...

In grade school we jumped rope to, "Blue bells;  Cockle shells...eevie ivy o--ver. I like coffee, I like tea, I like the boys and the boys like me!" So today I'll get my inspiration from this rhyme. Did anyone else jump rope to this?  Photos: ivy-covered cottage; blue bell flowers (the inspiration); silver dinner bell; shell wreath; steamed mussels; cockle shells (inspiration); rope placemats and coasters; girls jumping rope (inspiration)

Good Moring Janean,
Love that blue door and shutters! Had a blue similar to that on the Cape at one point. Forgot how much I liked it :)
Yes, we used to jump rope on the old school playground, here in my hometown. The old school was torn down in the late 60's to consolidate 3 small towns, which is now our grade school(they built a new "modern" building) a couple miles outside of town. I could never jump when they got 2 ropes going at once!

We did at school! Good Morning Janean...yes we sure did. Love that cottage...I lived in a ivy covered home and loved it except for the spiders it housed...then the sparrows set up house. We ended up tearing it off to make a screened in porch...but I still missed that ivy. Love the photo's! Hope you have a wonderful day. Maura

My VERY favorite color...blue. I find it to be very calming. Would love the wreath to hang in our bathroom, as well as those shells. I have a blue/tan beach theme going on in that room, with framed pictures of different lighthouses we've been to. GREAT post!

That first pic is mesmerizing! It makes me wonder who lives behind that door and what happens in their lives. Love this happy rhyme to start my day! :) Thanks!

Good morning Janean, I can't take my eyes off the little cottage with the blues, it looks like it should be tucked away on a mountainside in Sweitzerland.

you have a great memory of the jump rope song,....now I remember it, but I'd sure forgotten it.

I also remember another one "not last night, but the night before, 24 robbers came a knocking at my door. I ran out and they ran in, this is the song we began to sing" but I don't remember the last part.

Thanks for the memory and the beautiful pictures!

*sigh* blue makes my heart flutter. There's a special blue that is used on shutters and doors in the south of France - wouldn't I love it for the trim on Pondside.
Yes, we used to skip to those old rhymes too.

Oh Janean... My new best friend! Thanks so much for coming by and for both wonderful compliments!!

I was never homecoming queen, but I was a high school cheerleader and was a local beauty pageant winner and contestant in the Miss California U.S.A. pageant some 20 zillion years ago!

I also loved jumping rope when I was a kid, but was much better with a hula hoop LOL!!

Big hugs back to you!!
