A little Chinese influence in decor can be really nice. You can place an old Chinese chest or lamp in a room full of country or modern, especially if the chest or lamp is a bright accent color. Do you like Chinese food or decor? I'm featuring traditional Chinese red. Is red your favorite color? Photos from top: Accent Lamp; Entry-stock; Pier 1 faux orchid-$18.00; Antique Chinese Chest $1,800.00 - sold; great Chinese food - priceless!

Chinese Anyone?
We thoroughly enjoy good, fresh Chinese or Japanese food! I'm such a sucker for those carry-out containers and chopsticks. When I see someone eating from one on TV, I go ca-razy wanting Chinese food.

Now I am hungry for fried rice!
Loved today's post, Janean! My favorite picture from today is of what looks to be an entry to the home, with all of that beautiful sunlight shining through! I love everything about that pic! I also enjoy Chinese food!
On a side note...thank you for coming by the second time yesterday...your comment brought tears to my eye.
1 - yes - L*O*V*E Red!
2 - no - don't care for Asian bits in my design. Just not my fave.
3 - yes - love Chinese food, and
4 - I could eat Japanese hibachi food at least once a day, every day. It is just the best stuff!!!
Have a great day! B.
I think you and I are on the same wave length. Just this morning I placed some old Chinese fans in a dish on our console table in the great room and was thinking that I needed a little more Chinese influence around here.
xoxo,
Sue
We don't have any asian inspired furnishings, but I do love almost every kind of asian food! It's Chinese tonight after seeing your post!
Believe it or not, we just had Chinese last night. I am SO full of fried rice!!
xoxo

Just dropping in to say Hi from the coast of NC where we are visiting.
Blessings, andrea
Red is not one of my favorite colors, but, I do love Chinese food. Even a few accents in decor. What I love most is my 10 year old granddaughter who was adopted from China at 10 months old. She is intelligent, sweet, kind, mannerly and has a heart for Christ.
Ah that lamp - gorgeous!
What a thing to post when I'm on a diet - uh-oh! Good thing it's too early in the day.
I really like a Chinese accent - it looks especially appropriate with a colonial/traditional setting.
Have a great day - more flowers today if you have a minute.
Best,
Stephanie
I do love Chinese food! Vegetable lo mein = YUM!!
There is a very small amount of Asian influence in my house... I have two lamps in the living room and an umbrella stand in the entryway... and I think that is all. All three of my pieces are in blue though, not red. (no surprise there for those of you who know me.) Of course with all the things that are "made in china" these days, I probably have a LOT more Asian than I know.
a bit of asian in every room
a bit of the sea in every room
a bit of black in every room
a bit of me in every room
love asian food - and your photos -
thanks for sharing them -
I am so enjoying reading through your blog -
and thanks for stopping by --
you are sooo right -
so often it is the "little" things in life!!
Hope your tuesday is wonderful.
Thanks for leaving a sweet message on my blog!
I do love asian-influenced decor. In fact, I've got a few chinese paintings/posters hanging in the house from a trip that I took to China a few years ago.
And I'm totally itching to paint something in the house bright red! :)
I love your blog and have followed for awhile. Thank you for stopping by AtticMag and for your sweet comment on my home. I'll be answering questions there later today, in the comments section.
regards,
Allison
Oh, Janean, now you've made me hungry for Chinese!! And they closed my favorite little Hunan place that was near my office. Drats! :) Great post, lovely pictures. -Tammy
Ok you made me hungry. Lol. Egg rolls, rice, yum! But you also gave me a great idea for our homeschool teachings. THanks!
Chinese food, priceless indeed, I want some right now, that looks so delicious! Love the post!
Thanks for yor sweet comment on by blog! I love red and my dining room is red with treasures from China. We were there five years ago when we brought our daughter home.
Julie
I love red and even painted two of the living room walls that color.
As for Chinese....it's my all time favorite meal!
I don't like this kind of decor very much but I did like the lamp and I love the food! :D
Here's what I love: those cute white take-out boxes, chopsticks, those gorgeous flowers in your post, black laquer chests, room divider screens, and jade. So, yes, I love it!
I love red - touches of it in decor, and lots of it to wear.
behehe. i'm asian, so i grew up with some asian furniture around the house. i think that's one of the reasons why i'm so pro-European and old Rustic American in terms of my furniture tastes. however, i've definitely seen asian decor done in a minimal way in other people's houses, and it looks wonderful!
They don't use those containers at my Chinese place anymore :( They use these foil take out containers and it just isn't the same!
I am a great fan of Chineese Food, and now I am craving it....:-) Hugs
I love the food. Only have a Japanese sword on display and a cup and saucer from "Occupied Japan."
Beautiful blog...
Vito
I love Chinese food. My roommate when I was a young woman loved anything Chinese. We lived with her furniture which we so enjoyed.
