Splish Splash I Was Takin' A Bath....

In 1958 Bobby Darin released the hit song, "Splish Splash" (I Was Takin' A Bath). People today still sing that catchy little tune. It's FUN...and how many songs have been about soap, suds, and bathing on a Saturday night? At Old Sweetwater we're planning on enlarging what's now the hall bath into the Master Bath, so I've been getting inspiration. Here are some images of the often overlooked Bath Room! Anyone NOT know this song? Has anyone used that new waterproof paper-like  membrane (Schluter or Noble are two companies) under tile? We're considering it for the new shower.

Some gorgeous bathrooms there Janean, the first two are really stunning.. I would love one that I had put a lot of thought into, and included lots of things that I actually liked, instead of the bare minimun!!

Mmmmmmmmm, that pink bathroom with the tub in the middle. Give me a TV in front of me with old movies and I am set!

Oh, I love that 2nd bathroom, but would only have it if I could afford to have a maid to keep it spotlessly clean!

Hope all is well, and things are getting a little more back to normal. You have been in my thoughts!

Good Morning Janean! I love that song...brings back happy memories of when I was young. How exciting to get a larger master bedroom...good for you. I love all the pictures of old fashioned bathtubs...I don't know what it is about them but I REALLY think they're neat. We have an old footed bathtub sitting outside waiting for when we decide it's time to build a master bathroom here at the farm. Right now we've only got the one bathroom and it needs major work but that will wait until the new bathroom goes in or we won't have ANY bathroom LOL! I'm sure you're not looking forward to the mess but it will be worth it in the end. Looking forward to seeing pictures. I hope you have a good day...hang in there Janean...this day will get easier in time. Maura ((hugs))

How pretty. Nothing better than a long lazy bath in a clawfoot tub. Lovely blog.

Ahhhhh, such beautiful bathrooms, but my favorite picture is the last one, with the precious child and bubbles.

Hey girl..I know this was a pre-posted post. If and when you are ready for tile questions to be answered..give me a ring on the old e-mail phone..lol Hubbie has been setting tile for 30 years..He used to do all the million dollar homes in the Parade of Homes in San Antonio.

I am still thinking and praying for you and yours..especially today. Hugs from my heart..Cindy from Rick-Rack and Gingham

I'm a fan of the corner soaker tub, the best would be with jacuzzi jets... aaahhh - yes!

Are any of the pics of your bathroom?

That last photo is absolutely precious. It reminds me of when I was a little girl and we would sit in one of those huge tubs.

P.S. Love the different bathrooms. It is hard to choose.
