The Signs of Love

As a kid you found *love* was expressed in many unusual ways. Depending on your age, your admirer may have stuck his tongue out at you. This seems to be an enduring, international expression of love. *wink*   If you had long hair (like I did), he pulled your braids.  He may have passed you a note in class.  He may have shared his lunch. How about the Valentine class party? Your heart fluttered as you opened each cheap white envelope looking for HIS valentine. You read it and re-read it, right?  A *big spender* may give you a doll. There are endless expressions, but here are these examples.  Oh yeah, show me some love!

So cute! Happy Valentine's Day, Janean! ♥

I remember being picked on a lot in grade school - I was a scrawny, little skinny girl with baby-fine hair and I remember telling my Mom and she would say "the boys are just picking on you, because they like you". It sure didn't feel like that at the time though, lol.

Braids! I had them too, and was so happy when my mother finally agreed to cut my hair.

Hi Janean!

How funny! Loved the cute pictures! I can remember going steady with - Blair White - when I was in 6th grade. He used to put his hand inside my pocket and we would hold hands . . . secretly!

Happy Valentines Day!

Barb

Happy Valentines day, Janean.
Brings back many happy memories, apart from having your braids pulled.
Why did little boys do that?

The only special Valentine I got was from the teacher, yet I loved all of those cheap little regular ones. Some of my best memories were of those Valentines parties.
