REDy forToile De Jouy?

I have adored toile from the moment I laid my *hairy eyeballs* on it ages ago. It's classy and charming. It's typically a repeated pattern on an off-white background. The most popular colors are black, blue or red. We'll celebrate red today and blue tomorrow, soon, sometime before the end of the year. Any other toile decorators and fans? Okay, the last photos isn't technically toile de jouy, but it DOES give me joy to eat it!

Janean,
You know how I feel about toile, after seeing pics of the Inn. I love the red toiles. When I get back to the Cape house, I will post the upstairs bedroom, where I have red and mustard yellow toile. Love all these pictures :)

I love toile, but in small doses! My every day dishes are blue (almost cobalt) and white toile, and I love them! I also have an apron and potholders from Williams Sonoma outlet near here that are blue and white toile, and while they don't perfectly match, they are pretty close to my dishes!

I also bought (almost 7 years ago now) fabric to make curtains for our guest room that are a sage and cream toile, but alas, it is still on the bolt!

Wanna buy some fabric, cheap? :o) Becky

PS - hope your Dad is doing better!

love the toile..and what better why to end than with icecream...the colors so match..

Red and white anything makes me happy.
My daughter just did her nursery with green and white toile and a vintage pink and green rose pattern..so cute. I have some yellow tulle that I'm going to make into a pillow on a red and white couch.
What flavor was the ice cream? It does look yummy!!
Have a blessed day.

Oh my gosh I love all the Toile pictures today. That chair, pillows, and teddy is just to die for. And the cake plate, love it.
I had Toile drapes way back in the 70's, fabric my mom had and I wasn't smart enough to appreciate it then. Live and learn.

Those are one cool pair of shoes! I love the black toile with red accessories.

Good morning Janean,
I am a toile addict so coming here this morning just gives me a little fix! Actually, I'm swooning over all your toile. I have the red in my home and I cannot get enough of it. Thankfully, Hubby likes it too. Love the shoes and the footed cake stand is just fabulous! What a scrumptious post! Thank you for sharing and please stop by for tea, won't you? I'm loving your tea set! Have a lovely day.

Blessings,
Sandi

Ooolala!! I love some toile! (Especially Red!!) I have come to realize I will probably always have red accents throughout my home. They alwasy seems to pop up! It all started with inheriting a huge collection of red Johnson Bros- Toile is classic- love the samples you've shown! (And where oh where did that cake plate come from? It's awesome!!)

Good morning,
I too LOVE Toile. All the photos are beautiful. I have a set of the blue, but I really, really love the red. A year or so back I saw a set of the red in an antique store... wish I had got them at that time. Some day... :) I do want the ice cream!

And yes, Praises that our dad is better... we have been so concerned and praying very earnestly.

much love to all and blessings on the day.

I just love it and here is my problem, I love it red but then you will post blue and I will love that, and never will my house be decorated. :)
I hope you are doing well, I am praying for you, and I hate to tell you this but if I spent a whole month on my self, I would get bored. :)
I am looking forward to your birthday though. :)

Red/pink toile makes me happy, just looking at it. It's hard to find up here, so when we go down to Washington State I haunt the thrift shops. It's probably my favorite pattern, so reading your post this morning is a great way to start my day!

Janine,

I once read an interview with a designer who said every room should have at least one piece of toile in it. I love it all.

Yes, I have a love affair with toile of any color. But I collect blue in particular. Love your red though. I think the ice cream qualifies according to your definition of toile. LOL!
Seriously, though, hope you Dad is better by now and completely under stand that family comes first. As I have said before, I don't know how you consistently post such interesting and fun stuff.

Hello dear Janean,
I haven't had much time to spend reading blogs the last couple of weeks, but last night I took some time and found the post you'd done about the time you spent with your dad last week when he had congestive heart failure. I'm so glad that you were able to be with him, my friend. I didn't realize that you've lost your mother around the same time we lost my mother-in-law. I just wanted to let you know, Janean, that I'm asking God for strength for you as Mother's Day approaches and as you are back home, away from your dad.
Love ya...

Hello Janean~ "J'aime toile"
Any color, red, blue black, but my ultimate favorite....pink. I saw a designer makeover in black, white, pink toile. We seem to be in need of a fourth guest room so,I've been entertaining the idea of turning our family room into a guest suite and I bet you can guess what I'd like to decorate it with.
I agree...ice cream brings me jouy too.
Hope to see you stroll in soon.

Sweet wishes,
Sara

I found, or should I say stumbled onto, your blog today and really enjoyed your photos and your wit. I especially loved the photos in red and white you posted in May of 2010. Janean can you tell me what is the name of the red and white toile china pattern in the photo just above the red and white fabrics and chair with the teddy bear in it? I found the photo posted on Facebook today and traced it back to you but I have yet to find the name or manufacturer of the red and white toile china with the grape leaves on it...
