He Thinks My Tractor's Sexy....

Kenny Chesney released the big hit song, "She Thinks My Tractor's Sexy" in the summer of '99.
This year we could no longer fix our two very-old, very worn, cheesy-brand faithful riding lawn mowers, so we did what my honey's wanted to for years....bought a 54" John Deere riding tractor mower!! Yes, the dealer delivered a brand new tractor mower -- all shiny and full of gasoline. She's saw-weet!
The ONLY problem: We've had to resort to Rock, Paper, Scissors to see who gets to mow. (I'm good at this game because after 40 years I know my honey's thinking process pretty well -- shhhhhhh, don't tell him).
Hey, I believe the lawn's  grown at least 1/8 inch since I've started this post, so I'm finding my honey to play Rock, Pape....What? He's on the mower!
Janean, "Hey, no fair!!!"  *wink*
Do you use an eco-friendly push mower (photo 1)? Self-propelled gas-powered-walk-behind (like our John Deere we use at the *lake house*)? A riding mower (like our new tractor-mower)? Do you have professional hunks mowing for you? Or do you use something more natural like photo 5? Whatever way....happy mowing.
Janean, "Get OFF. It's my turn!"
My honey, "Catch me!"

My youngest grandson is crazy about mowers. I'll have to show him yours!
But I'll keep the gorgeous monochrome hunk for myself!

We use a riding lawnmower (cheesy brand lol!) for most of the yard and a walk behind mower for the smaller areas. I don't mow...dear hubby and son take care of it.

Too funny! The house we are moving to is in need of a John Deer or a cute shirtless lawn boy for Katelyn to drool over of coarse I'm no cougar!

Well lets see....we own a John Deere riding for at the house and 1 acre.....A large John Deere tractor with implements for the farm...we have had goats for years..I would stake them out..so I wouldn't have to weed eat..and for the hunks..my hubbie is still one. lol

I'm almost ashamed to admit I've never mowed a lawn in my life.

I used to have a gardener guy and now Mr. P does it (which reminds me it's time to nag him to do the front lawn again)

Walk behind self propelled with bagger. And there's no fighting - that one is ALL HIS!!! :o) Becky

Good Morning Janean, I LOVE this post and the photos especially #4;)
We have a FAST mower that turns donuts...zero radius and it's big. Not as big as our tractor but it's MINE and I do the mowing around here. I love the feel of the wind in my hair!!! Have a wonderful day....Maura:)

This was such funny posting. Love it! When our John Deere is working, my husband loves to mow. I've never done it. You make me wonder if I've been missing something. Hmmmm....

Wow, the guys who mow my lawn do NOT look like that! haha! I need to switch to a different lawn service!
Oddly enough, here at home, we hire our lawn out, and at our acreage, my hubby bought the biggest most ridiculously oversized Toro mower. (I saw the guys doing the cemetary with the same one... overkill anyone?!) He hasn't let me near it yet though...

When we lived in the country, I absolutely loved riding on our Snapper mower. We have a small yard now, and have a yard man, and I do miss mowing.

Congratulations on the new purchase!!
Cute post and I love all the pictures! I remember, as a child.... the old push type...UGH...

We used to enjoy mowing, but after 17 years of mowing six acres, we were sick of it! LOL, and we had two John Deere's so that we could both get out there and get it done. In our villa home, we'll be sipping ice tea and watching the lawn guys get it done!

Have fun with the JD! They are GREAT machines!

How exciting for the new toy you have!!!! I can see why you are competing for the chance to ride on it! My hubby would love to have a BIG tractor to ride on someday, but really we need a place for him to ride on it, before we get the ride. lol Love the goats, but they will clean your yard if you don't have the property....(overkill) :-) ***and Janean, what you asked about my mom's swelling...we found out in April that her cancer had spread again, and she has two tumors on the brain, thus the swelling after the radiation...
You have a great day...HUGS!
Loved the pics.

I love your new John Deere. We know our riding lawnmower is one its last legs too, it would be a wonderful dream to have a John Deere. We have a tractor too, a Kabota but it is orange and I love it too. Don't know what we would do without a tractor. I do think tractors are sexy.
Have fun mowing. Though you inspire me to challenge the men folk to a game of rock, scissors, paper to mow the lawn. :)

We have a 54" John Deere riding mower, too! LOVE that baby! :) We, too, fight over who gets to mow. But being a SAHM has its perks, ya know! I can get to it before he gets in from work! ;)

I am just not one who enjoys mowing, but I do love to trim our ivy and bushes. But my hubby LOVES his tractor-mower! I love it; my rock n roll guitar player, high tech Euro-cyclist husband.... dawns the bright orange hat, mounts his Kubota mower/tractor and becomes "Bubba"! He loves tractors of all kinds but especially his big orange Kubota.
Hey Janean.... that lawn boy picture..is that your brother?!;)

P.S. I would love to have the goats!

Hubby does our lawn like clock work every friday unless it rains...his lawn is his pride and joy...he wants all of his wheel tracks to go the same way...he says it looks neater...he has a Poulan push mower with a grass catcher...he does look cute while mowing espcially with his tube socks, old tennis shoes and holey shorts...BAHAHAHA

oh I love this post...my hubby just ordered a bunch of parts for our riding lawn mower..we've had it 10 years...I like your photos...we had goats at one time...boy they can clean a place up...I never have to fight with my hubby about mowing..he hates yard work...so he lets me do it...LOL...

I just got a brand new John...Deere that is. Love to have some of those hunks to do it for me! Darn...I do about two acres by myself but it is so much easier than with the last ugly rider. I really don't mind doing it. The last mowing should have been a baling, as we had such bad weather I couldn't get to it!

Andrea said...

We have and old riding mower and a very old push mower...we use those and I pray they last on an on.
Hugs,
andrea

PS: Sitka has an award for you at All Gods Creatures.

Ok, ok....I think 4th "tractor" is suuuper sexy!! Where can I buy one?

We have the same John Deer mower and a John Deer tractor. Jack won't let me drive either one.

Love the pictures. We have someone who does our lawn but we did have a self-propelled/gas powered one that was pretty easy to use. I have a self-propelled vacuum.

Karen said...

LOL....so cute and so funny! I love the goat idea. :) We just have a regular mower. Yard's not big enough for a rider, much to my hubbie's dismay.

Mmmmm. Not sure I would even fight for the right to "riding mow" my lawn. However, if the shirtless chap in the black and white photo showed up, I might be tempted to watch the "mowing of the lawn"! ~ Angela

We have a horrid old gas mower - I hate it! Since The Great Dane's accident I have had to mow the lawn once and that will be the last time!

I loved that song......I don't mow as I live in a condo and my condo fees covers this chore but I love the smell through the windows when they cut the grass. I only wish they looked liked picture 4....but they don't even come close ..Hugs

We have a lawn service... unfortunately they are not hunks... hmmm, maybe I should rethink who we use!

Have a great weekend~

Best wishes,

Hubby got a new tractor and mower attachment to mow our acreage.
I will stick to the little JD riding mower. Hubby is wanting to get out there and mow with it but with it raining and cold he is not a happy camper right now.
Thanks for sharing
Have a great weekend

I finally understand how awesome mowing the lawn can be on Mister Deer: I love our vroom-vroom!

My dad used an old push mower when I was growing up, but my husband uses an electic one now. We don't have that much to mow though, being that we're in the desert. We have to pay an arm and a leg to keep ours green :)
Blessings,
Marcia

My youngest son is a huge fan of the big green tractors. He would love to own one one day.
