Did I just see my Texas friends throw their sweet lil' ol' hand over their lil' ol' hearts when they read my title? I don't know any of the words to this old song, but I was humming the melody yesterday and wondered what kind of yellow rose decor ideas I could come up with. I matched the yellow with gray for a fresher take. Anyone born, lived or want to move to Texas? Janean,
Like the cake stand. Do you know designers are predicting yellow will be next year's "hot color" (like aqua is this year's)
Your Friend,
Deborah
Beautiful....ever so beautiful. From this Texan blogging buddy, you did a bang-up job of it all.
The real yellow rose of Texas was a woman.
Enjoyed this immensely.
I dooo love my yellow in small splashes!!
And as for the song.....
There's a yellow rose in Texas, that I am going to see.
Nobody else could miss her not half as much as me.
She cried so when I left her, it like to broke my heart.
And if I ever find her, we nevermore will part.
She's the sweetest little rosebud that Texas ever knew.
Her eyes are bright as diamonds, they sprinkle like the dew.
You may talk about your Clementine and sing of Rosalee.
But the yellow rose of Texas is the only girl for me.
One of our fav's here in the South.
Hope you enjoy!!
Hugs Cindy from Rick-Rack and Gingham
Love the sunshine yellow especially the shutters! Gorgeous!
Woo hoo.....born in Texas and never lived anywhere but the great state of Texas, I'm proud to say the least!
Yellow is one of my favorite colors, it's so bright and cheerful. I have very little yellow in our house, but I love it anyway.
Those are great yellow pictures.... My favorite is the altered picture ... the house with yellow shutters and yellow flowers....
Hugs,
I loved everything you posted...and I am not a "yellow" person per se but..wow! Those shots are gorgeous. I especially love that cake stand although the yellow shutters run a close second. Thanks from a NON-Texan-lol Diana
Good Morning Janean! I LOVE yellow...never thought I did until I decided to paint the walls in the farmhouse 3 different shades of it. It worked out perfectly! I LOVE those shutters on the stone house...I've never seen anything like that before. The barn door to the bathroom would be something I would go for if I lived in a restored barn or a post and beam home. Love your photo choices. I looked your last photo over and over to see Dale Evens but I do see Roy Rogers who I loved just as much. Happy Trails to you my friend...have a great day! Maura :)
I just love that yellow bathroom door! So very unique.
Hey Girl,
My FAVorite color! I love those shutters!!! Have a fun day, Janean :)
xoxo

No offense Texas, but I'm not a big fan of yellow, especially in roses...
But I have softened a bit
having seen yellow paired with gray
done right...it's stunning
Love that cake stand! I also wouldn't mind having those yellow shutters. I do admit to having a special place in my heart for yellow.
It just makes me feel happy.
All of your blog posts do. :) Have a wonderful day Janean. :)
If I am very honest .... then I do not like the color yellow ........ but that box is great and the cake stand and the door and the mixer and the seat and shutters and the rose are great !!!!!.......hahahahahahha!! love Ria......
you got this Texas gals attention for sure....
I truly enjoyed this even though I am not a real big fan of yellow.
I did love the cake stand.
Have a great day.
Love that yellow, especially the yellow roses. Florence
I'm not much of a "yellow" person, but I love the mustardy look of the shutters!
I'm and Idaho girl through and through - I've been to Texas, and it is grand, but Idaho is where I belong! The Yellow Rose of Texas, was one of my fathers favorite songs, I think Bob Wills sang a version of it!!
Here is the chorus:
She's the sweetest little rosebud That Texas ever knew,
Her eyes are bright as diamonds, They sparkle like the dew;
You may talk about your Clementine, And sing of Rosalee,
But the YELLOW ROSE OF TEXAS Is the only girl for me.
Hugs,
Barb
Love that cake stand. Looks like someone dolled up an inxpensive Anchor Hocking. Who is the source?
- The Tablescaper
Fabulous color and pictures, but yo know I am a softy when it comes to bake goods....the cake stand is Beautiful!
I wish they sell one like that here.
Have a blessed day :)
how lovely and uplifting. i've often heard
designers say that we need a splash of
black in every room. i think the same
could be true of yellow. it brightens every
corner.
i live north of texas and southwest of
you, and my nephew will be attending
one of your state universities.
blessings,
lea
The cake stand stole my heart away!
Ooooo, I love that yellow mixer. Yellow is one of my fun colors!
That yellow sliding door is just awesome! although I wouldn't use it for a bathroom like they did... um... unless it's really, really snug and tight and soundproof... LOL!
I've never been to Texas - yet. Are yellow roses taboo there?!
Beautiful!!! You can't help but smile when you see that shade of color...:)
Have a great evening!

Oooh, love it all! Those shutters match my front door (which always makes me happy when I arrive home). My barns are also a softer shade of yellow. That cake stand is my dream! I have much to explore at your gorgeous blog and so appreciate that you took the time to visit "li'l ol me!"
As a former Texas resident I am all for Yellow! I love the chair!
I love that cake stand and oh, that yellow cabinet makes me drool even though yellow is my least favorite color. You make it rise higher, my dear. And I know all the words to Yellow Rose of Texas.
Janean, I was born here and have lived in TX all 62 years. :-)
Have to say I considered doing a post on The Yellow Rose of TX, but opted for the little yellow peachicks. I already had photos of them. So guess you could say I took the easy road.
All of your yellow accents are glorious. I'm a longtime fan of yellow. It makes me smile! ~ Sarah
Wonderful...everything!!
Wonderful....everything!!
Janean,
I love ALL of the photos today. That first one is my MOST favorite. How beautiful it is. and I love the yellow cabinet too.
What fun. How could I ever forget Roy Rogers and Dale Evans and oh yes....Trigger! :-) Enjoyed visiting!!!!
I do love yellow -- I really like number 3 photo - I would of loved to photograph that shot of that building myself or even design something like that to build - can red and yellow work together -- I can't see it working with those two colors. I want a red barn but I am in love with yellow shutters too! My be I will go for a gray barn and put yellow shutters -- umm -- don't know - wink..
Wow! Nean, awesome pairs ~ yellow & gray, it totally works. I was about 12 years old when I met Dale Evans... he gave me his autograph and I was star struck :) In my heart, I guess I will always have that cow-girl deep inside ~ Kimmie
My grandmother was from Texas and was always singing that song. I lived in the Dallas area for two years and loved it.
The image of the yellow shutters made me swoon!
You know...I've never really been a huge fan of yellow since I'm a cool color gal, but these photos have changed my mind!! Those shutters make me swoon! And the tea set adorned with such a lovely rose inspires me to take it slow and enjoy time (: Thank you...thank you for inspiring the color love of yellow (:
Michele
XOXO
love the yellows..
i use a tone of yellow/gold in my home, it's so warming.
That yellow chair is SO swoony!
Janean,
These pics are just dreamey...I have never been a fan of yellow until recently and am just crazy for charcoal and yellow. I just added a pop of yellow to my black, white & gray guest bath and am LOVING it! I don't think I can handle yellow walls just yet but that wallpaper is absolutely stunning!
Best wishes,
Tammy
The black and white tea service with the yellow rose was my favorite photo. I like yellow but in small doses.
I LOVE yellow! I painted my dining room yellow in my first house and then my second daughter's nursery was yellow. LOVE the chair and shutters and door! Where is the chair picture from? I want to buy it ;)
Hi Janean,
Love all your wonderful yellow photos today ~ it is always such a happy and bright colour.
I do not have any yellow in my house, apart from a few flowers now and again and I do have the Country roses tea set.
Happy weekend
Hugs
Carolyn
Ooh Janean all this yellow with grey is fabulous, I just saw a post about orange and I thought that would be lovely but now I think maybe grey with a hint of yellow......mmmm.
I think Sarah Richardson decorated a farmhouse in yellow and grey on her show....... it looked awesome!
I do love that Ikea cabinet in yellow.
Hugs,
Margaret B
Yes, ma'am, I'm a Texan through and through. I was born here and have lived most of my life here. I do love yellow when it's the yellow rose of Texas!
