You know I really like black wrought iron. Hey, the Eiffel Tower's made of puddle iron, which is a form of wrought iron. It can't get more romantic than that to me....except maybe black wrought iron fences and balconies. *fingers stopped in mid-air* You know I just figured out why I might be car-razy for wrought iron -- my grandfather was a blacksmith in the early 1900's! Is it a genetic thing? Are there any other black wrought iron fans? (From top: new chandelier; fence gate; Chicago floor grate; door knock; door hinges and switch plate).

After looking at your photos (gorgeous!) I realize that I love it too. I love the black accent that it gives so many things - it can make a piece stand out. I bought a swirly black hook that I'm using in the bathroom to hold the handtowel and I smile when I see it! I also have a doorstop that had belonged to my grandmother - love that one too.
I love it too-balcony and stair railings, fences, doorknockers etc. All lovely!

Janean, my middle bedroom has a black wrought iron bed and bedside table in it. We've had wrought iron in our home ever since we've been married.

Yes! I love black wrought iron! For years I've wanted an old wrought iron gate to hang on the wall over my fireplace. It would be so cool!
Wrought Iron just always has that feeling of history, doesn't it? You can feel the metal. You can see it and it holds the day's temperature. Yes, it's romantic.

Black wrought itron against white-painted wood is a look I love. When we built our deer fence my dream was for 12 fot wrought iron gates on the drive - what we could afford were 10 foot cedar and wire. Oh well, a gal can dream.
We had a floor grate in one of our homes in Western Springs, IL. It was a very old house with real stucco walls and cove molding.
You certainly are not alone! There was a house two doors down from my childhood home. That house was not particularly beautiful in any way, other than the fact that there was a black wrought iron railing around the front porch. I always, always, ALWAYS loved that porch railing! To my childish eyes it was such an ornate and beautiful design. Looking back I realize that it was really a plain and simple, not-so-fancy railing, but it sure was beautiful to me at the time! :)

I love the look of black wrought iron, it always look vintage to me. I've been catching up with posts, and I loved those chests. I also just noticed for the first time that it said "nana" in your bio. How can that be? I thought you were about 25 to 30, way to young to be a nana!
