It's For The Birds Decor and More

There's a common idiom we say when we believe something is uninteresting or useless. I'm not sure how this saying got started because most humans like birds and are aware of their value. Anyway,  here are decorating ideas and a personal item featuring the birds. Does anyone have a bird or bird decor?

Whattya Want?

Valentine's Day is drawing near. I'm sure many of you are thinking of something to buy or do for someone. Why not treat yourself? Oh come on! Here are some ideas:  The first is a pretty petal apron (link on photo).  Speaking of petals, you could buy yourself flowers, or better yet, buy a flowering Cherry tree or Pink Dogwood and you'll have flowers every year.  Of course,  the ever-popular decadent chocolates are always nice. Buy or make an Eiffel Tower bag. A couple of blog gals are experimenting with printing their own muslin to make their own bags...perhaps one day some of us will even take a trip to see the real thing! OR do what I did one year:  I got travel videos to all my favorite places and watched it on Valentine's Day!  What are some other gifts you'd like to give yourself? 

It's a Trapp!

 










Gift-giving is an art.  Good gift-givers are usually talented and artistic, but most importantly they are good listeners. They are focused.   They observe. They think.  They're not lazy. They're not stingy.
I've been blessed to have a few of these people in my life. Every time I opened one of their gifts, I was amazed.  One such gift was from a man who sent us a beautiful large basket filled with all sorts of classy gifts, including a Trapp candle set. For those unfamiliar with Trapp, they offer such unique fragrances as Orange Vanilla, Mediterranean Fig, Sugared Fruit, Wild Current, Orange Clove and Black Pepper!    I just kept thinking that he cared. He really cared.  
Have you had someone in your life who is a good gift-giver? Are you one?  Using these old salvaged numbers to remember or mark an important date to the one you're giving the gift to would be appreciated, don't you think?

Kitchen Gadgets

I saw this and thought of Vickie, my SIL. Every year my brother gets her kitchen gadgets as stocking-stuffers.
Don't ya think that's a good idea?
She has some cool things.
I forget what few gadgets I have b/c I tend to use the same things over and over...even when they don't work so well!
I do have one favorite gadget: It is the (free) orange peeler I got at a Tupperware party "100 years ago."
