City Sidewalks

"City Sidewalks, busy sidewalks dressed in holiday style. In the air there's a feeling of Christmas!" We went to the Country Club Plaza a couple of nights ago and experienced the lyrics of the song! It was the first shopping center in the WORLD designed to accommodate shoppers arriving by automobile, but you'll not find stop lights! It's very European influenced, especially Seville, Spain -- hence the half-sized Giralda Tower of Seville (on the left in first photo). These aren't great photos because we couldn't sit in one place for more than 8 seconds, but I hope you get the idea. The sidewalks were crowded with shoppers and people dining out. The sights and sounds of Christmas surrounded us! Speaking of "Silver Bells," what's your favorite Christmas-holiday song?

The pictures are beautiful with the the buildings decorated in lights. I love the dome all decorated on one of the buildings. City hall, or the court house, maybe? Thank you for taking us along for the ride to see the lights of the city.

Since Independence Missouri is my home, I am very familiar with the Country Club Plaza. What a beautiful place at Christmas.
In the 80's when I was working for a Dr. he took us up in his plane to see it from above. Marvelous.
Happy to got to see it and enjoyed it.
Thank you for the memory.

What beautiful pictures! I just got your comment and wanted to let you know there is a smaller version of Photoshop called Photoshop Elements. (I got version 8.) It's MUCH more reasonably priced at around 65.00. A lot better than the mid 600's!

Have a wonderful Christmas!

Hello Janean,
thank you for your compliments. You're dutch is very good! The blueware is from Salem England. The forks are silverplated but I do not know any brand. Honestly I find most of these stuff in the second-hand/recycle? shop.

Dear Janean,
usually in Holland we use this little forks with two prongs for meat (for bread/lunch) and those with three prongs for pastry.
