Found Decor

I had a friend with the most amazing talent for making something out of found objects. One day I helped her gather twigs, weeds and road side junk, then watched her make the most breath-taking display above my hutch. Another time my husband dragged two white upholstered chairs from the curbside for our DIL. Twelve years later they still have them!
Let's share some ways to freshen our decor without spending a dime. What found objects have you incorporated?

Chair similar to curb-side found chairs; Curbside Shopping anyone?

Irish Decor and Other Sweet Things

When I think of Irish decor, images of thatched roofs, aged stucco, limestone and sophisticated rustic interiors come to mind.
I've read a few cozy mysteries set in Ireland and adored the descriptions of the cottages.  I imagine it would be so delighted to visit the Green Isle!  Who lives there? Who has visited? What comes to mind with Irish decor to you? Photos: Irish thatched roof; Floral Designs; Celtic Cross available online; Irish Terrier; Celtic Knot floors @ Forest Floors and how could I not include Irish Stew?

Diet Food Decor....

Kiddos, this winter has been a fattening one for me. *ugh*  So my diet (as in what I'm feeding myself) is weighing on my mind...well, more on my hips and thighs....uh, much more!
I need to get my mind off lasagna, chocolate, cheese sauces and other fantastic, delicious, comfort-producing, fattening-for-me food...at least for a while.
My inspiration? Fresh, low-calorie-good-for-you food.
Here we go....Oh, by the way, is anyone else trying to shed a few "L - Bs?"

Okay, just being real. I "fall off the wagon" sometimes...but is IS carrot cake!!
