Are You in Transition?

Everyone's life goes through times of *transition.*  We flow from one phase into another. Whether you're engaged to be married or on your way to becoming single again; having your first child or the last one leaving the nest; being ill, but on your way to healthy....most of us are in some type of transition. We in the Northern hemisphere are in transition between summer and autumn.  Here are some examples of transitional interior styles (traditional infused with modern). Are you in a transition or have just come through one?

  2. Lovely!

Yes, we're in transition - high school. Though after a month of school now, I feel like we're settling in, though each new day still brings a new adventure. ;)

  3. Transitions? Ha! I move from one right into the next!!! There is always something goin' on, right? Especially if one knows the Lord....He just moves us from one place to the next. Not physically moving us, but our spirits are ever growing, ever learning! We just hang on for dear life, cause it's always a bumpy ride!!!

  4. We're in transition on a couple of levels - our dear daughter has moved back home for her final year of university, after having lived out for nearly two years. Around the house the summer cushions are still on the couches and chairs, the baker's rack is still on the veranda, although the days of using if for serving outdoor meals are over - soon it will be moved and the frame for the back door wood pile will take its place.

  6. I stay in a transition! Everything but my furniture/decor unfortunately. Kind of stuck with it. (Love all the rooms you posted!) My hubby is 3rd year med student. We've moved 3 times in 3 years. I'm really tired of transitioning. And to top it off, my oldest moved away to college and my baby started school. Oh well, keeps me flexible. Never dull around here.

  8. I never thought about it until now, Yes, I am in transition. Only my room will never look like that. My kids are being fruitful to fast. :)
The teenagers are becoming adults so it happens. I would love for my house to look like that first picture. But, with soon to be six gran-babies under 4 I think it will just remain a dream. :)
It is nice to dream though, You find such great things Janean, Thanks!

  9. I'm in the process of a transition to the empty nest. It will be a couple of more years but with three officially out of the nest and the one remaining in high school, I am getting a sense of what is ahead. And it doesn't scare me!

  11. Whenever I am at Overstock and they have you narrow down your style, I hit transitional, I always find things I can mix and match that way.

Love the rooms, I could live in the first one!

  12. Hi Janean!

I love the last picture - I'd love to be curled up in the overstuffed chair, reading a book by that cozy fire, drinking a hot cup of...something!

Transition? I feel like the last 10 years or so have been a transition. Kids leaving home, getting married, having babies. The only thing I can be sure of these days, is that nothing stays the same!

    Hugs,
    Barb

  13. Hello Janean!
Yes I'm in transition between summer and fall. It's been in the 90's the past few days but this weekend will be in the 80's which is really still summer weather. I'm excited about fall but I'm still hanging on to summer. One day I'll wake up and I will be done with summer...but I need cooler temperatures for that to happen! Love the pictures especially the kitchen with the huge windows. I hope you have a wonderful cool weekend. Maura :)

  16. I love a mixture. I can't stand everthing "matchy-matchy." Is that a word? Anyway, I guess that's my quirky side. :)

  17. Hmmm I don't think there's ever been a time where I *wasn't* in transition... But I love it just like that. Beautiful homes you pictured there, of course mine will never look like any of those in a million years but hey, it's nice to dream :-D

  18. The pictures are all lovely and I love this style. I agree with Blondie and Barb and would love to move into the first and last pictures. A few of them are too clean for me. The ones I chose have such a warmth. And I am in transition - I didn't know my style had that word.

  21. Ha! I am always in transition. My home, not so much at the moment.
(notice I said at the moment)
Loved your pictures. The dining room one really spoke to me I loved everything except the light, but maybe that was part of the transition thing.
As always, you make me think.
