Lounging Around

A lot of people have *a thing* for the Chaise Lounge. When I see one I imagine myself lounging on it with a grande Williams Sonoma cup of perfect cafe latte and a good, great, fantastic book. Relaxation in a chair! Yep, that's what a chaise lounge is. Wouldn't it be great if they had one that would fit into the shower? How do you pronounce it? "Shays," "Chase," or "Shez?"

  1. I would love to own a couple of these but what I've really always wanted is a house with an entrance that could accommodate a pouf. I love those old films that have rooms with poufs in the center.

Thinking about, maybe I just take the fantastic book and beverage!

  2. I always think I would love to have one of these, but then the practical side of space and function hit like a ton of bricks and I know that I do not have room in my life for one... so, I'll enjoy them by seeing them here on your blog. It is fun to daydream!

  3. Hi Janean!
I have always wanted one but for some reason I don't have one. I better look into that! LOL!

The last photo is unbelieveable and of course, the ultimate in luxury and comfort. Ophra probably has one!

  5. Good Morning Janean!
I love them and when we lived in the Victorian I had thought about getting one and putting it in the turret of the dining room with a little table and lamp beside it. I'm afraid our little farmhouse has no room for something so luxurious. That's ok...I'd rather be here. I hope you have a wonderful day. Maura :)

  7. Number three is similiar to the red velvet one my Mema had in her bedroom. My aunt has it now. My girls use to lay on it..and act like they were queens..lol I know she recovered it in red ..because I remember my mom saying it looked like a hooker couch..and was so embarassed by it..lol I loved it!!!

  14. You were right - it was a moth - a luna (white) moth and it was huge.

Hey I have always wanted a chase lounge. I liked a couple of them. The white one I love because I could have my grandson there with me and the shower one - whew - that is a trip.

    Nice to meet you!

  17. I had one similar to the 4th one down, only mine was green. I loved it for my bedroom, but we gave it to our daughter when we moved to a smaller house.
The last one looks so comfortable, not particularly attractive to me though.

  18. Some of those are lovely. A "chase" in the shower??? Then you go and show a picture of exactly that! (But isn't the water above the head?) :P

  22. They certainly are pretty but only the overstuffed white one looks comfortable. The others look stiff and hard!

  23. We have a chaise on the terrace and one in both of our sunporches. Noting like curling up in one of these with a good book or to take a nap. Beautiful photos. ~ Sarah

  26. Hi Janean!

Love, love the, chase, shez, shays?! I would take the leather one any day, it's gorgeous! when I see some loungers, I think of Cleopatra being fanned by a muscle bound servant and a leopard with a studded collar sitting next to her . . . and palm trees. hummmmmmm?

  27. I wanted one from the moment I stayed in a guest room at a beautiful home on Jupiter Island. I was 23 years old, not long married, and green as can be, but I knew what I liked! Several years ago The Great Dane bought me a chaise longue for my birthday. It has sat in the bedroom and in the TV room - wherever I think I'd like to read and lounge. I don't think there's a nicer piece of furniture.

  28. Don't they always conjure up thoughts of rest and relaxation... Even my grandson said he could picture himself with a nice glass of lemonade when he saw an outdoor chaise. :-)

    Warm blessings,

  32. Thank you for dropping by my blog and commenting! I pray you find God's grace abundant. I've learned that ANYTHING that draws me nearer to God is "good" for me . . . even pain. It sounds as though you were at His feet ALOT yesterday . . . my guess is He wished you would stay a little longer. :) When we are gripped by fear and consumed with pain . . . we can rest assured we are held by God . . . He never leaves us. He is always at work . . . and in our weakness . . . He is our strength.
    Praying for you sister,
    Cherie
