Labor Day Decor

The USA is observing Labor Day, but I'm posting about a different Labor Day.  I have a friend who's pregnant with her first baby! We're all eagerly awaiting her painful ordeal, her walk through the valley of the shadow of death, the longest day of her life, her labor day.  I'm past child-bearing years, but still like looking and shopping for *baby stuff* for my friends. Do you?  Maybe you're expecting or someone close to you is? At any rate, let's celebrate LABOR DAY decor!  Beautiful white and neutral nursery; Adore the padded headboard on crib; fabulous bassinet; Elegant pink and cocoa crib set; Very French and Pink Nursery; Happy Labor Day...no really!

  7. Hello Janean!
Oh boy..I'm so glad those days are behind me. Five natural births is enough for me and now it's up to my children to take up the reins! Love the photo's especially the 2nd one. Is that you in the last picture? My heart goes out to who ever it is. All the best to your friend for a healthy happy speedy delivery! Take care. Maura :)

  9. I loved decorating both nurseries when my children were tiny - son's in primary colours, around an English alphabet frieze and daughter's around a gorgeous Laura Ashley pink floral.
Good luck to your labouring friend!

  10. Happy Labor Day to you too! Great minds must think alike becauwe my first thougth was to do a Labor Day post about a Mother in labor. LOL Your own is much better than mine would have been because you have posted som absolutely fabulous nursery photos. Can you imagine the joy it would be to step into one of those nurseries? lol...and to think...my mother slept in a dresser drawer close to her mother when she was a baby!

Thank you for the lovely post. My favorite, by far, is the laboring mother! Diana

  11. You are so clever and cute!
The baby nursery's have really changed from my time in the 60's... Now there are theme nursery's. I was happy to have a baby bed and chest of drawers.
    Love the pictures!!

  12. Love the second photo! Poor friend, but to know that the pain we go through in labor is so worth it when we hold our baby in our arms, it just awesome.

    Have a great day!

  13. I'm long past my labor days and my children tell me I have all the grandkids we're going to have but I still love looking at baby things! In a few years - say 8 or 10 (our oldest grandson is 18), I hope to be welcoming great grands into our family.

  16. I kept my white crib, all of my babies slept in it. Is that you in labor? I gave birth on Labor day weekend, 17 years ago (it was actually Friday). I didn't like the labor, but I wouldn't have missed the pleasure for the world!
    Blessings,

  18. My daughter is expecting her first this week. She will be my first granddaughter, I can't wait! I was an oddball, didn't find labor that bad. But then, I only had two children and I was in my 20's. My daughter is very strong, she'll probably have an easy time and I know she'll be a wonderful mommy. As she says, she was born for this!

Blessings to all of us mothers out there.

  27. Such a fun post, made me *smile*
Lovely baby pretties. No, I don't look at those items anymore, haven't for a long time, because no one I know is having babies. Sort of all past the age now and into different stages of life. But.... that time will return again for me, when our children are older and having babies of their own.

  29. Thanks for snapping me back to reality with the last picture. Love all the nursery pics. It amazes me how they always come out with prettier things after I decorate my nurseries. Maybe I'll have grand kids some day and get to enjoy decorating without the pain! No wonder it's "grand!"
