Tradition!

My sister (in law, which is just a technicality) and I adore the movie, *Fiddler on the Roof.* One of the songs is entitled, "Tradition." I tend toward tradition with Christmas -- even white (to me) is traditional. Well, here's the traditional green and red, but with a little twist. Are you traditional, transitional or a tradition-breaker?

  3. You know, I just think I like it all.
That baby is just so sweet in it's nice warm knit hat, and those strawberries, who wouldn't love those.
    Stay well, and stay warm.

  4. At Christmas, I tend to love it all - the whites, blues, pinks and of course the traditional red & green. I'm a mix of colors and tend to let each room be a different color combo.

  7. Oh, Janean! All the photos are beautiful, but you know I love that sweet baby picture the best! I may have to try to copy that cute Christmas hat!! Yep, I'm a traditionalist!!

  8. Oh, I love all of your green and red pictures - especially the truck! My car is almost 10 years old and has well over 100,00 miles on it, and that is cool as I plan on driving it "until the wheels fall off"! But my dream car these days is a gorgeous restored OLD pickup truck in either a bright red or green. Somehow seeing one (have you seen the one in the presc. meds commercial - be still my heart!) just makes me happy! Of course I also want a little restored Scottie camper to tow along behind it!

And I am definitely traditional, with maybe just a big toe in the transitional. But just ONE BIG TOE! Like I said, I'm a traditional girl at Christmas time!

    Merry Christmas Janean!!!

  9. I think I am more of a silver and gold person at Christmas but the last picture with the baby might make me switch. :) The image with the room with that red and white chair, is just so nice. I would wish if I could ever have a look in my house it would be that. I love the green mantel. these are really nice and I think I always go along with traditions. The one thing in my life I don't break rules. :)

  11. Good Morning Janean! Well...I think I'm 'traditional'...yep now that I think about it..I'm definitely TRADITIONAL. I'm an old fashioned girl at heart but I try and be a little creative although this year I just couldn't get the 'creative juices' flowing. I like that old truck and of course the baby's hat. I hope you're having fun getting ready for the holidays. Enjoy what's left of your weekend!

  13. Oh Janean,

I love your last photo. How precious...new life...so sweet.
I have been away from many blogs as my time was pared down while helping my dad through my mom's final weeks with her battle. She went to be with her Lord and Savior on Thanksgiving. We are coping and mourning and healing. Thrilled for her, taking one day at a time here. I am following in your footsteps. I am back to visiting some of my favorite blogposts again. I am so eclectic, I am not sure what I am....lol. I love the mantel pic.
went back and visited past posts..saw your room. LOVELY - Stunning! I do so love it. Have yourself a wonderful week!!! Hugs to you dear bloggy sis...

  14. Hi Janean -
I would say that I'm traditional in that I use mostly white. I used to be traditional as in red and green for many years. I love these photos....especially the last one of the sweet little angel :)

  26. I am the sister "in law" who shares the love of "Fiddler On the Roof"! And I love all of these pictures today, how sweet is that last one!
I love the traditional Christmas colors, but I also love seeing a new twist with the colors and ideas. As we get older and maybe away from family, sometimes the beloved traditional, kind of hurts because we can't be with the ones we love, so the different twists make things fun with out hurting.. makes old things new. I toured the Atlanta Christmas house this past Saturday and saw a lot of new "twists" on Christmas decorations... interesting!
    Merry Christmas to everyone!!

  28. I really like the red & white wing-back chair next to the fireplace :D What a warm feeling you get looking at that picture - the old truck reminded me of a little place near the out/side of town near Waco, TX. We would pass it going to my grandmothers :D Merry Christmas!!!

I love the traditional red and green Christmas! I am an old fashioned girl at heart and just love the holly and the berries look. I especially love the little Christmas elf with the hat on!! I will be having two of them within the next few months - so exciting! I hope they look like elves too!

  39. Hi Janean,
What a pretty room! And those towels,oh my! are a nice twist on Christmas colors. My favorite thing to do.
Thanks for stopping by! You could make an all white blanket...the ties would look like ruffles :) Wow, now that's a thought.
As far as Christmas decor...I'm all over the place. I love traditional, but giving it a little tweak or twist is most fun.

  41. I'm not sure... so that probably means transitional, somewhere in the middle, doesn't it?

  42. When I saw your strawberries, I had a "Mom" moment....my Mom (4 years passed) was always creating edibles like that (one year she made 57 different Christmas cookies!) Thanks for the warm moment and the hug from another place.

  43. I guess I am traditional. I refuse to put white lights on my tree! Well maybe one day...but haven't gotten there yet! Mostly red and green in my house.

  44. Your pictures are so incredible...the strawberries, the adorable baby, the truck, the room. They're all so different, but they all go together. I would consider myself "traditional with a twist"
Thanks you so much for your very kind comments on my camera transformations...not too traditional though.
    Have a Very Merry Christmas.
