Forbidden Colors

Certain colors were forbidden to wear together when I was in junior high (middle school). If anyone wore pink and green ON THURSDAY (thank you, Loui), they were teased and called names - all in good nature for the most part.  This custom seemed to be common, though the colors varied somewhat. Fortunately in decor and creation there are no forbidden color combination. We'll focus on pink and green, which were those colors!
Did your school have a similar "code?" Do you like pink and green? Photos: Pink and Green Shabby Kitchen; Pink and Green Petit Fours; Pink and Green earrings; Pink Toile and Green bedroom; Hoops and YoYo toys; Pink and Green sophisticated Living Room; Great Lash and our inspiration from Creation.

  3. We didn't have the forbidden colours thing going on, but we did have the "My clothes are cooler and more brand name than yours " thing happening. I never won that darn contest. My Mum wouldn't let me play.

Now I couldn't care less.I go for comfort not fashion. There is a certain cachet to middle age don't you think?

I love pink and green together. Those petit fours make me wanna lick my computer screen, but I'll just have to be satisfied with ordinary lamington roll...sigh...

  4. Janean,
I am more of a red, yellow green girl, but these are very pretty together. The shabby kitchen is darling!

  5. While I have never personally trended toward pink/green in my wardrobe, I do love it in other areas -- those earrings, in particular!! :)

I also really, really like that first photo of the kitchen! Wow! Though... I don't believe I would have the heart to subject my hubby to that much pale pink in our home. He wouldn't complain, but I'd spare him.

Great photos and great post! :)

  18. I have forever loved the pink and green color combination! It has been way too long since school days to remember if we had any of those 'forbidden' things ... most likely we did though. Most kids do.
