Whattya Want?

Valentine's Day is drawing near. I'm sure many of you are thinking of something to buy or do for someone. Why not treat yourself? Oh come on! Here are some ideas:  The first is a pretty petal apron (link on photo).  Speaking of petals, you could buy yourself flowers, or better yet, buy a flowering Cherry tree or Pink Dogwood and you'll have flowers every year.  Of course,  the ever-popular decadent chocolates are always nice. Buy or make an Eiffel Tower bag. A couple of blog gals are experimenting with printing their own muslin to make their own bags...perhaps one day some of us will even take a trip to see the real thing! OR do what I did one year:  I got travel videos to all my favorite places and watched it on Valentine's Day!  What are some other gifts you'd like to give yourself?

  3. I want my boyfriend/husband to think of something unexpected and thoughtful all on his own. BUT since the boy isn't wired that way I will start this week emailing him pictures and links of fun ideas and see which he chooses. Ya gotta help the poor creatures along and be happy with their effort. Luckily, in spite of his "gift impairment", he's really cute....

  4. Chocolate and all things French.. ooo'la'la' cheri.

Hubs is soo good to me, but he's not a purchase an wrap up kind of guy.. so I've learned over the years to locate what I'd like and then share this with him. I don't mind if it's not wrapped or given exactly on the day of the event.. I'm happy, he's happy and no hurt feelings. (one year, eons ago.. I was given some wooden spoons from him. This would be like me giving him an empty cd case. So.. with that in mind knowing his mind was elsewhere I adapted.)

    with love,

    Olivia

  9. My husband is a sweetheart, but needs a little nudge in the right direction for gift giving. So I give him a pretty good sized list, and he picks something from it. He gets help, and I still get surprised.

  15. Those are wonderful ideas. I would love to get a new purse. I told my husband no flowers. Since he is traveling this week and will be home early Friday we are going to do a movie and dinner. He hates crowds. I don't even get to go out on Mother's Day, it has to be the day before!

  16. All of the above, except maybe for the apron. I'm afraid it would make me look even broader than I already am!

This year we're going out for Japanese (hibachi) food - yum! I don't get it very often since we moved and I just love it!

  20. Hi Jeanen

That's true! Really important to give a gift to myself sometimes!
In last year I was Venice of Italy at Valentine's Day!
This gift of Valentine's Day was a magic. This town is a magic. Legendary town.
Everywhere and everytime are people of costume. On the streets, in the coffee bars, on the "gondolas". Day to night.
    "Egyszer próbáld ki!"
If you think, look the pictures on my webside.

  21. I like your ideas but I am and always have been into flowers anything that flowers. So I love flowering trees -- and dogwood is one of them. Planted 24 root dogwood's but to our surprise our dog loved them too and eat them all after we planted them -- I am not kidding either.

  22. When I opened your post to read it, I thought the petaled thing was a lamp shade... and then I read that it was an apron. :-)
I love getting flowers from my honey on Valentines day

  23. I love all these photos. My husband gave me the best gift today. Our newspaper is apparently doing something about Women Who Make a Difference. I glanced over it this morning, and suddenly saw my name. My dear husband had written a letter and nominated me! I was so touched. He's not the kind of guy to normally do this. I don't need anything else for Valentines Day!
    Blessings,
    Marcia
