Trust Me, I Am A Real Person

I like words....just ask my honey. He's making one of those "blabby" signs with his hand as I type this!

A lot of bloggers have those word verification settings. It is supposed to tell if we are a real person or a machine, I think. When I leave a comment and am asked to type the word in as it appears, what do I do? I sound out the word as I type.   Like it's a real word-----Not.

Then I noticed recently that I started making up meanings in my head for the words. Here are some examples of actual verification words and my made-up meanings --

scrorede: past tense use, hurried skating. "He scrorede to his friends house yesterday."
purphaph: uber-phaph, urban slang - awesome, rad or sweet. "Dude, your skates are purphaph!"
nonnidym: root word from Chinese river Nonni, meaning fast flowing. "Dude your purphaph skates are nonnidym!"
emberner: ever since. "Dude! Emberner I saw how nonnidym your purphaph skate scrorede to my house, I want a pair."

Trust me, I AM a real person. However, I might need tescobey: extreme intense therapy. "Dudette, you need some serious tescobey."  Am I alone here, or does anyone else try to sound out these words?

Eamebake, chickies!

  3. Too funny. No, I haven't attached any meanings to them but it sounds fun. We all probably need a little "tescobey" from time to time!

  6. Oh this is too funny! Have you noticed you get some of the same words over and over? Once I got "Satan" and my husband happened to be standing by me and saw it and said, "what on earth are you doing?" He was not familiar until then with these word puzzles!

  9. LOL! I find it funny how many times the random letters make real words, and they often seem to apply to something I'm thinking about!

  19. How very clever you are! I think you have a future in linguistics. I don't think I will every look at those verifications the same way. Too cute!

  21. A couple blogs I visit have commenters who type their word verification at the bottom of their comment and make up a definition to go with it. They're always hilarious.

Thanks for commenting on my blog. Yours is so very nice!
