Sunday

The calories. I know.  It's Sunday though, and most of you have a busy, busy week ahead.  Just one hot croissant with a little home-made honey butter.   The recipe is written below.
I made a pot of coffee and one of tea, both steaming.  The cream is icy-cold.  Sugar and its substitute is in the cabinet.   Make yourself at home.   Chilled gingered apple cider is in the crystal pitcher.

Put the natural linen napkin on your lap.   No, the monograms don't  all match  -- that's their charm.   Relax.  Lean back in your chair and breathe deeply.   Now enjoy breakfast and enjoy the day the Lord has made.
Seconds? Of course!
Do you have a busy week ahead?    Tell me about it

Honey Butter
1 stick real butter, room temperature
1 stick fresh margarine, room temperature
1/4 cup good quality honey
1/4 cup Half n Half

Mix butter and margarine together with electric mixer at medium speed until well blended.  Beat in honey, a tablespoon at a time until blended thoroughly. Beat in Half n Half a tablespoon at a time until smooth and fluffy. Optional garnish:  candied orange peel. It's awesome!

  1. I bought a big pkg of croissants at the grocery on Friday. For holidays, when we'll be busy, I cut them in half, fill with ham and cheese, and wrap individually, then put each individually wrapped sandwich in a zippered bag. When we want breakfast, a minute or two in the microwave, a dish of ambrosia, a cup of coffee, juice, and you have a wonderful holiday breakfast! Have a great one! Becky

  3. Busy? Oh, yes! My sister was just on the phone to coordinate Thanksgiving provisions. I have the house to clean, the table to set, the turkey to thaw and then cook, cook, cook! (all around work!) I love it! C

  6. Looks yummy....I've been up since the sunrise (actually -- there's no sun around here today, but since daylight) and I've been cooking away for the busy Thanksgiving week ahead. No time for a leisurely breakfast today.

  17. When I used to live in Europe that was my sunday breakfast always (not with honey butter though, I defenately will try that!), now we try to keep tradition, but do sometimes skip. I loved seeing this post, looking delicious. Thanks! Thanks for stopping by on my site as well

  19. Hi Janean, that does sound like a wonderful Sunday breakfast. I'm afraid for me it was a quick slice of peanut butter toast, scull my cup of tea and rush off to church music practice at 7.30am leaving hubby home to attend to our 8 year old who was doubled over a bucket most of the day with a tummy bug. Later in the day hubby sliced the top off his thumb on a vege slicer (I wonder if fingerprints grow back?), and I took my middle child on a date to the local market. I bought myself some beautiful fresh flowers so am enjoying them today.

  24. The breakfast could have been better shared in person, but was wonderful anyway. I needed it for the week ahead. We will leave tomorrow so today I am baking and packing. After Thanksgiving Day with my in-laws, I will cook with my dad on Friday for my family. Then I will disappear with my daughter and granddaughters while the whole crowd watches Alabama vs Auburn football. I like football, but time with my girls is priceless. Too bad there are no tea rooms to drop in at.
