Office Assistant or Secretary?

It's a secretary in this case...one I decided to partially strip to the green paint. It's a sweet piece we got for a *steal* at an auction three years ago because it was painted one bad coat of white. I planned on using it as our "Office," but there's something about it I don't like. Is it the shelves? The style? The location? Help me! Maybe I'm just not the secretary type?

    It's beautiful. So many possibilities - showing a collection of treasurers maybe? I have my Aunt's - it's a beauty and in pristine condition. I have my treasured pieces of glass, china, and artist made teddy bears that are too tiny to have out in the open. The drawers are filled with vintage linens from my Grandmother.

    So - I think this piece is truly a plus.

      Joyce, just last night I moved the secretary into the living room instead of the bedroom and now I adore it! It was in the wrong space. I may do a follow-up photo. Thanks for sharing!

    Please do a follow up and the complete makeover. I like it. My mom has one and I know it will be mine soon and I don't like the dark wood...so now I know what to do with it.
