Snow Queen?

It is a wonderful feeling when you actually look forward to entering a room. Our master-guest bedroom is that room for me. As I gaze at the vintage, sparkling crystal chandelier and observe each detail, I feel like a queen in my own itsy-bitsy, teeny-tiny, microscopic kingdom...a snow queen with all this white. Read my sidebar: white calms me. Calm is good because I'm one of those people whose brain seldom turns off. I'm always creating or trying to solve problems...so calm is a daily goal. Is anyone else like this
We decided to *gut* the small walk-in closet and build it out with double rods and several shelves. It holds an amazing amount of clothes and shoes now. Yay!  Photos: 1. Metal crown and crackled urn on vintage wooden wall hanging I've had *forever;*  2. Closet build-out; 3 and 4. Crystal Lamps (very heavy) I got on clearance for $47.00 each instead of $300.00 each! 5. Vintage mercury heart to put on petal plate...or my final choice 6. Silver Cowgirl buckle that was a gift from my brother and SIL; 7 and 8. Vintage chair I painted and recovered...Look closer. I used a terry cloth towel! 9. Winter tree candle holders that add a wintry glow on my wish list.

  1. What a vision in white, Snow Queen! I love it. The crown is beautiful and I love the chair...I am thinking of doing my vanity bench in something similar. The closet was a wonderful idea, I love the shelving. You did a wonderful job...I'd feel like a queen, too. :-)

  6. Lovely, Janean! My fave is the mercury heart - beautiful! Wouldn't it be pretty with a tassel hanging on a curtain or the knob of YOUR armoire!

I hope you and yours have a wonderful, happy, healthy and grateful Thanksgiving! Blessings, Becky G.

  7. Janean,

You know I love whites - crisp, clean, pure, simple. I love the detail of the silver cowgirl buckle on the white dish. Your chair is stunning. Terry cloth towel? Really?
    All of it is beautiful.

  12. I would love to have all white, but I have found with the amount of people and animals that are in my life it wouldn't be white very long.
I do love it that you have done it and it looks beautiful and I hope we get to see more of your creations. I could not tell those chairs were recovered in towels. I love that old fashioned heart too. It is just beautiful, I bet it does quiet your soul.
    Have a lovely Thanksgiving.

  25. I agree with you, it's a gift to have a room like that. I don't have that in this apartment but we'll hopefully move to a new place soon and I hope to have such room then :)

By the way, I've found some terrific enamel signs today at www.ramsign.com . Thought they might be great as christmas presents, what do you think?
