Wicker Awesome....

I had a friend from New England that used to say, "Wicked awesome," when something was wonderful or amazing. A few years ago at an auction, I saw a "wicker awesome" set. I lost the bid, but wondered what the owners did with it. Here are some inspiring examples of Wicker - Awesome. Any other wicker fans? Antique wicker loveseat;  Antique Wicker Baby Carriage; Wicker for the back yard; Wicker Picnic Basket; Antique Heywood Chair online; Antique Settee;  Victorian Wicker Chair and Wicker Refreshment Cart.

  7. Hey gal! Sorry I've been away so long. August seems to have flown by so far but with school starting Monday I'll have more time to play!

I love the look of wicker but it better have a nice thick cushion! I bought too nice chairs at Big Lots for by the pool this summer. They're the "modern" wicker, coated with plastic, but they look nice and are really comfortable!

  8. Janean,

I love the antique love seat, settee and chairs you have pictured. Also adore the wicker picnic chest. We have an antique heywood set on the third floor left by the previous owners. They couldn't take it due to the tight turns in the stair case (God knows how they got it up there!) They gave us the option of leaving it or having someone 'chop it up'. Could you imagine? Of course I insisted they leave it!
I am hosting the Never Ending Cyber Highway Yard Sale Link Party this week. Hope you will participate!

  12. One of the nicest things about the veranda is the wicker furniture - I leave it out all year long so that I can steal a moment of a sunny day even in the rainy winter. I don't have any wicker inside the house, tho' I did once have a wicker pram. All that's left of it is the wheels!

  13. I love Wicker-I think it is Wicked Awesome too. My kids used to use that same expression..lol. I am especially fond of the baby buggy...can you imagine toting your baby around in that on a Sunday afternoon stroll in the park? *sigh* kind of makes me miss the good old days I never knew!

I picked up a cute little wicker table for a song last week that I will most likely paint and put next to the old Eastlake wicker rocker on my front porch. Pictures soon, I promise. Diana

  14. Love wicker...I have it in my Summerhouse. It could be a tad more comfortable, I think the older stuff is.

What is new with you? Hope you are having a great summer.

  15. I have a thing for wicker too. It just says comfort to me, and summer too. We are kind of hard on it around here though. It doesn't last as well through 6 kiddos as some furniture does :-)

  16. Hi Janean!

I love wicker! It is so versatile. It looks beautiful sitting on a huge veranda at a mansion, or sitting in a corner of a bathroom in a small home - it fits in anywhere! Love the picnic basket!

  17. I'm a wicker lover too! I love all the pictures you posted.
I'd love to have a wicker love seat and ottoman on our patio!!!! Our son and his wife gave us the black metal furniture, and it sure isn't wicker, but it was our house warming gift from them, ....so I have to love it.

  19. I've long had a love affair with wicker. I love it natural or painted. Another thing I appreciate about wicker is it's ease of mobility. One can move it about at will ~ inside or outside. Enjoyed the images. I'd love to find an antique wicker tea cart. ~ Sarah

  21. My grandmother used to have a wicker love seat like the first one. I had a few pieces when I lived in Louisiana.

  22. I wonder, has wicker gone out of style/fashion? besides patio furniture you don't see many new pieces being made and sold... well, here at least. maybe because it's so dang hard to clean! that's the trouble with pretty things, they aren't always practical. oh well, who cares :-D

  25. The baby buggy is 'wicked awesome'! There's a similar one in a store window in a town not far from here. Everytime I drive by that window I think how much I'd like to have it. But I've never been brave enough to stop and see how much they want for it.

  26. I use to have a whole sitting room of wicker when my husband (Janeans brother) and I first got married. I dearly loved wicker. Something youthful and carefree about the look wicker gives.

    blessings to all...

  30. I adore wicker, hubby however doesn't. Living in FL wicker inside reminds him of cheap condo rentals... I love a wicker chair paired with a rustic table. For now I have LOTS of wicker baskets and a wicker stool in the kitchen, babysteps...

    Best wishes,
    Tammy

  31. I do love the look of wicker. We have a patio set that is the look of wicker but not real wicker. We are very happy with it and it's a great outdoor set.
