A little Chinese influence in decor can be really nice. You can place an old Chinese chest or lamp in a room full of country or modern, especially if the chest or lamp is a bright accent color. I think you and I are on the same wave length. Just this morning I placed some old Chinese fans in a dish on our console table in the great room and was thinking that I needed a little more Chinese influence around here.

Red is not one of my favorite colors, but, I do love Chinese food. Even a few accents in decor. What I love most is my 10 year old granddaughter who was adopted from China at 10 months old. She is intelligent,sweet,kind, mannerly and has a heart for Christ.

ReplyDeleteThere is a very small amount of Asian influence in my house... I have two lamps in the living room and an umbrella stand in the entryway... and I think that is all. All three of my pieces are in blue though, not red. (no surprise there for those of you who know me.) Of course with all the things that are "made in china" these days, I probably have a LOT more Asian than I know.

And I'm totally itching to paint something in the house bright red! :)

behehe. i'm asian, so i grew up with some asian furniture around the house. i think that's one of the reasons why i'm so pro-European and old Rustic American in terms of my furniture tastes. however, i've definitely seen asian decor done in a minimal way in other people's houses, and it looks wonderful!
