Cats and Decor

Since Egypt, cats have been a part of decor. Statues gave way to paintings and the rest is history, so to speak.  Yesterday we talked about dogs in decor, so now let's look at a few feline examples, which can include "the big cats."  We plan to scale down when designing our retirement home, but I'm making sure I have a place for about five paintings. One is of horses and the other is a large painting of two lions in muted colors that I treasure.  Here are a couple of cat decor items.  So are there any feline decor items in your home? If so, what are they?

  2. Cats rule at my house! We have two black cats who were rescued. Each has a unique personality and often they clash.

There are cat toys, cat condo, cat beds, cat dishes, etc. throughout our house. I have a large black cat mug on my desk that holds pencils, pens, etc.

And then there's the cat pics. Can't ever have enough of them!

  3. I just have two REAL cats that sit all over everything! My black cat loves to sit in this specific spot which is on top of the printer with a lamp shade above her head. I guess she thinks she is a lamp!!!!

  8. Thanks for your funny comment on my blog! Love the picture of the Maine Coon. Those wooden cats are gorgeous, too. It's funny, I love cats but don't really have any cat decor other than a dishtowel and potholder with kitties on them.

I'm sorry to say that since our cat died so many years ago there have been no cats to take his place in our home. He was one of a kind!

  21. No cats in our house - not even cats in art. It's not that we're anti-cat, but I'm just not enthusiastic about them, as I am about dogs!

  24. Hi there! I have one cat who is my baby and sleeps with me - her name is Angel Girl and she is a sweetie! I can think of only a few things that are kitty decorations. One is a darling grey cat made of porcelain - her tale is straight up in the air. I know I have a cat potholder, a pottery cat with her tail curved for use as a hook on the wall. I guess that is all. But I'm also crazy about dogs too.

They all add so much pleasure, entertainment and comfort to our lives.

BTW, I just signed up as a follower so that I don't miss a thing. Come see me when you can and I'd be honored if you'd follow me also...
